It will definetly take a few lot of tries before I dominate the technique but if in the end my nails look just half as gorgeous as the ones in this tutorial, then I can consider myself a
Musically speaking, I can say that Jack Johnson is the love of my life. I think it was by 2008 when I first heard about him. I was watching TV mith my dad when this video came through, and after about 15 seconds listening in silence, we looked at each other like "yeah, he's got it". And he really does. Up to the point that I haven't met anyone who doesn't like his songs yet. Even my grandma who is not vey into modern music, after a lunch with Jack as a background, asked with curiosity "and who is this boy?". And my grandma doesn't speak any English. But I gess it is not necessary to understand the lyrics to get what he's saying. His is a message of calm and optimism against a world where stress, worries and bad manners are regular payment. So I suggest you close your eyes and listen carefully, have a deep breath and imagine some palm trees, white sand and whatever makes you chill. We aren't here to last, so take it easy.
The old legend says that Alexander The Great himself went to meet Diogenes, that great thinker who lived inside a barrel, and who everyone in Greece was talking about. - I am Alexander The Great - he said to the wise man. - And I am Diogenes, The Dog. - What is it that I can do for you? - Please, step out of my sunlight.
It takes courage to look life in the eye and make it the best it can be. It takes resilience too. To walk a courageous path, one can be forced to abandon the creature comforts that one takes for granted. Fortunately, one of the benefits of philosophy is that it teaches us how to live with a minimum of comforts and possession. Diogenes demonstrated this to Alexander by rejecting his offer of help. The sun would suffice, Diogenes implied – this and the opportunity for honest reflection. In our age of ‘luxury fever’ and ostentatious wealth, we would do well to follow Diogenes’ example, and learn how to live with minimal possessions in peace and dignity.
"My outlook has always been that people in the streets aren't dressing to please me, why should I take them into account when dressing myself? Playing with clothes is one of the most basic pleasures in life along with other stupid crap like peeling nail polish off in single sheets, crawling into a sun warmed car, and laughing about nothing and everything. If I were to die tomorrow I would be glad that I wore a slightly inappropriate coat and five inch heels to a desert train station in the middle of the day. You know what I mean?"
