I will remember the kisses
our lips raw with love
and how you gave me
everything you had
and how I,
offered you what was left of
me,
and I will remember your small room
the feel of you
the light in the window
your records
your books
our morning coffee
our noons our nights
our bodies spilled together
sleeping
the finy flowing currents
immediate and forever
you leg my leg
your arm my arm
you smile and the warmth
of you
who made me laugh
again.

Charles Bukowski, Raw With Love

winter's coming and you're stuck here

I wanted so badly to lie next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bootom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was dizzle and she was hurricane.

I'll keep them still

So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons.
And maybe we'll never know most of them.

words to live by

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,
since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

at first sight

We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once,
before a word has been spoken.

VII
love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more sheldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail

it is most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea

love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less litter than forgive

it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky.
E. E. Cummings

KISS ME A QUESTION, ask me again with your eyes and I'll answer with my finguers, trailing reasons down your spine. There's a theory behind your knees and a postulate in that sweet spot on your neck, and I'll respond to your query with a smooch and holler, roll you up against the sink and wash your hair, make love till the plates fall off the shelf.

The Great Gatsby

... and so with the sunshine and with the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things go fast in movies, I had that similar conviction that life was beginning over again with the Summer.
F. Scott Fritzgerald

I love you without knowing how, why, or even from where. I love you straight forward, without complexities or pride. So close that your hand on my chest is my hand. So close that when you close your eyes, I fall asleep.

The bruises go away, and so does how you hate,
and so does the feeling that everything you receive in life
is something you have earned.

Alice in Wonderland

yeah, it's me

- Chesire Puss - she began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether it would like the name: however, it only grinned a little wider. "Come, it's pleased so far" thought Alice, and went on - would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
- That depends a good deal on where you want to get to - said the cat.
- I don't much care where...- said Alice.
- Then it doesn't matter which way you go - said the cat.
- ... so long as I can get somewhere - added Alice as an explanation.
- Oh, you're sure to do that - said the cat - if you only walk long enough.

Lewis Caroll, Alice in Wonderland
